Workplace Romance: The Truth and the Distance Between Us

I’m Yao Qi, an investigative journalist. My weapons are my pen and camera, and my conviction is to expose the wounds hidden beneath the glitz of the city. Then I met him: Duan Jiahe, a police star as unmistakable as a banner.

At first, we were just temporary partners with a shared goal. I wanted the case leads in his hands; he needed access to my sources. But after a sudden, bloody pursuit, everything changed. Together, we watched trust collapse, and the evidence we held pointed straight to the top brass at the police station. He fell from the heights of glory and became a “traitor” wanted by the whole city.

And I went from being the one who recorded events to his accomplice, forced to flee for my life alongside him.
