Everyone says Regent Ji Fengjin keeps a mad dog by his side, one that bites anyone it likes, protected by its powerful master.
Yet everyone also knows that six years ago, this mad dog was a gifted scholar, elegant as an orchid and as bright as the moon. He had been expected to pass the highest imperial exam and enter government service, with a brilliant future ahead of him.
For six years, An Shiwei tried to escape countless times. The Regent's residence had a private cell just for him, where his restless heart was kept captive.
Eventually, he stopped running. He ate Ji Fengjin's food, drank his wine, and shamelessly ordered him around like a servant.
Ji Fengjin put a bridle on An Shiwei, so An Shiwei forged a chain for Ji Fengjin.
Later, An Shiwei turned the tables and became the one in control. He drove the former regent to the brink of death, only to suddenly learn that the bridle and the chain were nothing but a solitary blade Ji Fengjin had knelt down to offer him.
I feel that the development of this story is very novel, a story about loyalty.
Cheers to the good-looking author [sending heartfelt wishes]
