A Pot from the Start: I Transmigrated to the Song Dynasty to Sell Mala Tang

Wang Dachun woke up and nearly passed out from the stench of a filthy ditch in Bianjing! All he had was a shiny nonstick pan and a crowd of ancient people staring at him like he was an idiot. Starving, he discovered in despair that the Song Dynasty didn't even have chili peppers!

Just as he was wondering whether to take a bite out of the pan, the [Gourmet Tycoon System] smacked him in the face! From the start, all he had was a pan. The System would supply the seasonings, and his one goal was to win over the people of the Song Dynasty with malatang!

He simmered bone broth in a battered clay pot and stacked stones to build a stove. The moment the first pot of spicy, oily malatang was ready, the whole street went wild. A little beggar wept as he ate, a down-and-out scholar howled about how delicious it was, and copper coins came raining into the pot!

But before he'd even had a chance to get comfortable, street thugs blocked his way. "Kid, paid your protection fee yet?"

A haughty young lady tossed down some silver. "At this time tomorrow, save ten bowls for me."

The restaurant owner across the street sneered. "Just wait till you're forced to close!"

Wang Dachun weighed the pan in his hand and grinned. "Just you watch! I'll show you how this modern culinary god can stir up a storm in the Song Dynasty and cook up a whole new world with one pan!"

But the waters of Bianjing ran far deeper than his malatang broth! The Canal Gang was watching from the shadows, ingredients were suddenly cut off, and the young lady sent him a note in secret after being confined to her home... What kind of trouble had she gotten herself into?
