The New Legend of Zhong Kui

Mo Bai was an ordinary young programmer, living a busy but uneventful life day after day, until a chance incident on a bus completely changed his world. During his commute, he encountered a strange old man whose disembodied shouts and cryptic hints made Mo Bai begin to glimpse vague supernatural phenomena. Faint shadows drifted by, and eerie noises echoed in his ears, gradually driving him to distress.

After seeking medical help to no avail, Mo Bai was directed to the mental health center at Wufeng Mountain south of the city. There, he met the Taoist Zhao Qingkai and learned that he had accidentally awakened a forbidden Taoist technique called the Secret Art of Communing with the Underworld, which allowed him to peer into the realms of yin and yang. To ease his mental abnormalities, he went to Lingyun Temple on Xiaoqing Mountain to seek help from Master Zhao Xuanling. After treatment for his eyesight and mind, he officially entered a fantastical realm filled with ghosts, cultivation secrets, and conflicts between yin and yang.

Set in a modern city, this story blends suspense and fantasy to tell how an ordinary person is drawn into the supernatural world. Facing threats from ghosts and the awakening of his own powers, he embarks on an adventure full of unknowns.
