Mo Bai is an ordinary young programmer, living a busy and ordinary life day after day, until an accidental bus incident completely changes his world. While commuting, he met an old man who behaved strangely. The uncle's calls and mysterious hints from a distance made Mo Bai begin to glimpse vague supernatural phenomena - erratic shadows and shrill noises echoed in his ears, and his spirit gradually fell into trouble.
After seeking medical help to no avail, Mo Bai was directed to the mental health center in Wufeng Mountain in the south of the city, where he met Taoist priest Zhao Qingkai and learned that he had accidentally awakened to the forbidden Taoist technique "Secret Technique of Connecting the Netherworld", which allowed him to see into the realms of Yin and Yang. In order to relieve his mental abnormality, he went to Xiaoqingshan Lingyun Temple and asked Taoist Zhao Xuanling for help. By treating his eyesight and mind, he officially entered this fantasy realm full of ghosts, monastic secrets and the conflict between yin and yang.
