Lu Chen, an unemployed programmer, was involved in the real-life horror game "Corridor of Terror" by a red pop-up window while browsing the dark web late at night. It was bound to the "Corridor Survival System" - you can accumulate survival points by clearing the dungeon, exchange for props, and repair damage. If the points are cleared or the dungeon dies, the consciousness of reality will be permanently annihilated.
The game consists of 12 "themed corridors" with increasing difficulty, from the blood-stained nurse in the D-level "Midnight Hospital" to the ultimate aberration in the S-level "Abyss Technology Headquarters". Each copy hides terrifying monsters controlled by the "corridor manager", and players plunder each other for survival.
Lu Chen survived from the initial panic, relying on the system's "clue markers" and "danger warning" and other skills, and met the fighting master Lin Ye, the chemistry master Zhao Yang, and the stealth expert Mei Jie to form the "Lightseeker Team". As he went deeper, he discovered that the "Corridor of Fear" was actually an experimental site for Abyss Technology to screen "consciousness containers". The missing friend Chen Mo was the survivor of the previous round of experiments.
In order to uncover the truth, save his friends and all the players involved, Lu Chen led his team to break through the layers of dungeons, fight against managers and plundering players, and finally faced the Abyss Technology headquarters in the ultimate corridor. In a life-and-death battle to destroy the consciousness extraction device and prevent the ultimate aberration from awakening, they embarked on the road to redemption.
