Misunderstood and ostracized? A vocational school student’s comeback begins with a “problem squad”!
Su Nian transferred to a vocational school with the hope of helping her grandmother recover. On her very first day, she ran into trouble: taunts in the restroom and an employer shortchanging her wages. But she refused to back down. She teamed up with Zhao Feng, a mechanical whiz; Zhang Hao, a programming genius; Lin Xiao, a thoughtful girl; Wang Lei, an outgoing guy; and Chen Yang, another new transfer. And just like that, the “Vocational Education Center Squad” was born!
They defended their dignity with their fists and solved problems with their skills: exposing corruption at a skills competition, taking on Qizhi Tech’s illegal schemes, and rescuing a kidnapped teammate. They helped an athlete reclaim the right to fair training, repaired rehabilitation equipment at a nursing home, and even developed an “intelligent rehabilitation system,” winning gold at the citywide competition before making it all the way to a national forum!
Some members shouldered heavy family burdens and gritted their teeth through hard times; others clung to their meager savings as they pursued their dreams. Yet they always had one another’s backs. There were no “poor student” labels, only an unwillingness to give up. There was no predetermined path in life, only a future they could build with their own hands.
When “vocational student” was no longer synonymous with prejudice, and a small system lit the way to rehabilitation for elderly people in communities across the country, these young people proved that your starting point doesn’t determine your success. With enough passion, you can make your mark!
