The Rongcheng Code: Seekers of the Light

Chen Shu received the devastating news that both her parents had died in a plane crash. Her father, Chen Yang, was a special forces soldier, and her mother, Wen Sulan, was a battlefield doctor. But the strange clues they left behind made Chen Shu certain there was more to the “accident”: before boarding, her mother had warned her, “What your eyes see isn’t necessarily the truth,” while her father had left a cryptic message: “The answer is in Rongcheng.” Guided by her uncle Chen Hui, she transferred to Rongcheng Middle School, where she gradually befriended a group of classmates with very different personalities, all carrying secrets of their own. There was Yang Mobai, cool and composed, whose notebook held model airplane sketches just like the ones her father used to draw; Jiang Chen, a seemingly carefree boy whose diving watch concealed the code name “EX” for the Explorer; Xia Wanqiao, outspoken and fiery, whose mother had once worked alongside Chen Shu’s mother in disaster relief; Zhang Qiqi, skilled at data analysis and the one who uncovered a crucial clue in old archives; and Wen Xi, who was always at odds with Jiang Chen but shared an unspoken understanding with him.
