The story begins in Shanghai in the turbulent 1930s. An unprecedented catastrophic flood and chain earthquakes instantly turned the prosperous Shiliyangchang into a hell on earth. The heroine Lu Weishuang was originally a contract bride from a merchant family who "married" into a wealthy warlord family in order to seek shelter. When her family was overturned in a disaster, she was forced to embark on the road of escape with Shen Zhixing, a geologist who studied abroad and was regarded as an "alien" by her family. The main plot revolves around the survival and growth of the two people in the apocalypse of natural disasters. It abandons golden fingers and supernatural powers and emphasizes the wisdom, struggle and human choices of ordinary people in extreme environments. The highlight is the intertwining of "hard-core escape" and "emotional bonding": on the one hand, the male protagonist interprets natural disasters and plans routes with his scientific knowledge, while the female protagonist uses her extraordinary emotional intelligence and resilience to unite survivors and deal with interpersonal crises, showing a logically rigorous apocalyptic survival; on the other hand, the two go from the initial contractual relationship and mutual vigilance to mutual support in desperate situations, and finally develop deep emotions that transcend life and death, exploring the true meaning of love and responsibility in troubled times. The plot will run through the entire process from the fall of the city, long-distance migration, establishing a survivor camp to rebuilding their homes, depicting a true and cruel picture of the natural disasters of the Republic of China.
