The Consort Imprisoned by Cold Paulownia

He keeps an enemy kingdom’s female general imprisoned at his side, intending to humiliate her as he pleases, but she turns the tables on him instead.

He sets a trap with scented pellets. She foils it!

He lays out an intricate game of strategy. She wins!

He summons the Northern Di cavalry. She fights them!

Right under his nose, she stirs up the winds of change. From a hostage held deep in the palace, she rises step by step to become the mysterious “Mr. Xie,” wielding power over the entire court.

The ministers impeach her: “Your Majesty! If this woman is not eliminated, the kingdom will cease to be a kingdom!”

He gazes at her, his eyes unreadable. “Xie Zhao, do you want my throne, or my heart?”
