The Dinosaur Renaissance is a small-scale scientific revolution. Paleontologist Robert Buck first proposed the term Dinosaur Renaissance in Scientific American magazine in 1975, which changed the physiological theory of dinosaurs and their image in popular culture. The Dinosaur Renaissance began in the late 1960s, when new discoveries and research pointed out that dinosaurs may not be lazy cold-blooded animals, but actually a group of active warm-blooded animals. This hypothesis challenges the generally accepted view of dinosaurs in the first half of the 20th century.
