"Time Travel: Rose of Everlasting Night" is a female urban fantasy love novel, telling the fateful entanglement between ordinary perfumer Lin Shen and the blood prince Feng Mian. Due to recurring nightmares, Lin Shen took pictures of the ancestral copper bottle and accidentally activated the space-time rift with his blood, releasing Feng Mian who had been sealed for hundreds of years. It also triggered the "Twin Gears" contract - the two people's lives were bound. Feng Mian needed Lin Shen's reverse time factor to alleviate the particleization. Lin Shen's use of backtracking ability would cause his hair to grow gray.
In order to terminate the contract and rescue Granny Wen, who was abducted by the Hourglass Council, the two stepped into the Mirror Abyss space-time where time flows 10 times faster. They fought against predators that feed on memories, parliamentary radicals who advocated the elimination of "time and space hazards", and faced the memory devourer who was the incarnation of Lin Shen's lover in his previous life. Lin Shen used the art of perfumery to awaken memory fragments and resist the crisis. Feng Mian regained empathy amidst emotional degradation and imprisoned himself twice to protect Lin Shen.
The story contains three major themes: "a hundred-year wait that is misplaced in time and space", "concrete sacrifice of the price of ability" and "misplaced regrets in the past and present life". It not only writes about the two-way redemption, but also explores the weight of love and responsibility. The countdown to the reunion at the end leaves enough room for fateful regret, allowing readers to empathize with the deep emotional bonds in the fantasy adventure.
