Ensemble cast + ordinary people struggling to survive + realistic
When the Blood Cross virus ravages the globe without warning, civilization collapses within hours and cities become bloody hunting grounds. This is no legend of heroes saving the world, but an epic tale of four ordinary souls struggling to survive in the depths of the apocalypse.
Chen Mo is an ordinary college student cowering behind his dorm room door, armed with nothing but a baseball bat. Lin Tao is a white-collar professional trapped in a cubicle in a luxurious office tower, clutching a metal ice axe while his suit falls to rags. A-Zhe is a seasoned shut-in who relies on the internet and drones, watching a vision of hell unfold beyond his screen. Li Rui is a fiery young man who fights his way through chaotic streets with two high school friends.
Fate violently shoves these four groups of strangers into the same supermarket, now an island cut off from the world. Supplies are scarce, and endless Blood Cross infected crowd the doors. But in the shadows inside, human greed and cruelty bare their fangs first: the fire axes wielded by convenience store manager Wang Pangzi and his gang are pointed at their throats before the monsters can reach them. Suspicion and probing questions fill the aisles. The instinct to survive forces them to join hands for now, but seeds of distrust have already been sown.
Escaping the supermarket's hell is no end to their ordeal. The faint hope of a military shelter on the radio is utterly crushed by a shout just before the signal cuts out: “Don't trust... they're also...” There is no savior, no cure. They have to save themselves. Using ladders, security doors, and scavenging know-how, they piece together a swaying “mobile fortress.” Within the rusted skeleton of an abandoned factory, they establish a fragile “Rust Camp.”
Yet the apocalypse never stops evolving
Why is the protagonist dead? Isn't Lin Tao the protagonist? Why did he die so quickly!
Let's eat something good 🙂
It's okay, but the first chapter is too confusing. I don't understand how the three of them got together.
