Tao Yuci, a slightly plump and insecure girl, spent three years secretly in love with the school heartthrob Zhu Mo in high school, but self-doubt kept her from ever confessing. The whole school knew how she felt, yet all she got in return was Zhu Mo transferring away. After graduating from university, Tao Yuci helps out at the barbecue restaurant her father runs, Taoran Ju, but she has never been able to forget that innocent crush. One summer night, when Zhu Mo pushes open the door, making the wind chimes ring, and stands by the grill with the scent of everyday life about him, Tao Yuci realizes that the campus heartthrob she once looked up to has come to apply for a job as an apprentice.
