In the early 1980s, in a village at the foot of the Changbai Mountains in Northeast China that relied on hunting and gathering, young hunter Zhang Dashan was sorting through the belongings of his grandfather, an old hunter of unknown reputation, "Zhang Heizi" when he discovered a secret "gold-touching talisman" and a half-volume of strange maps drawn with animal skins. At the same time, there was also a puzzling last word left behind: "The talisman now opens the tomb, causing the cycle of cause and effect; the shaman's true eye guards the entrance."
Zhang Dashan, who had never heard of any gold-touching captain in his ancestors, was involved in a series of strange events: the "fox shadow" that appeared at home late at night, the "yellow leather" that imitated human voices in the forest, the looming ancient symbols on the map... He formed a team with Zhao Weiguo, an educated youth from the same village who was proficient in local chronicles and Feng Shui, and Bai Lan, a mysterious woman who had fled here to avoid her enemies and claimed to know shamanic witchcraft. According to the map, their target was the "Mohe Witch Burial Tomb", which is hidden under the vast forest and snow-capped mountains, is closely related to ancient shamanistic rituals, and has never been seen in the annals of history.
