Shen Yao never dreamed that the “rat race” she'd tried to escape by scrimping and saving in the city would come for her in an even more hard-core form: an accident air-dropped her into the real ox-and-horse era.
As an office worker who spent her days typing at a desk, what did she know about picking corn or harvesting wheat? Within days, her hands were covered in blisters, her back hurt so much she could barely straighten up, and even feeding the chickens left her running for her life.
It didn't take long for the villagers to realize that the new educated youth was a tough customer. Her stepmother wrote demanding that she send money for her stepbrother's wedding? She read the letter aloud in front of the village office, exposing her stepmother's petty schemes for all to hear. Her stepsister tried to steal her food rations? She promptly brought the evidence to the team leader and demanded justice. She stood up to the troublemakers and defended her own interests. Lin Xiaoyu's reputation for being “mean” spread throughout the village, making her a thorn in everyone's side that nobody dared to provoke.
Just as she was trying to figure out how to avoid the rush of farm work, she accidentally stumbled onto a huge secret about Lin Muqin, the famous village loafer from Bald Mountain Village!
The eldest son of the village chief, he slept all day and never worked in the fields. He was a notorious layabout who lived off his parents, known across the surrounding villages.
One was an “ill-tempered educated youth” who knew nothing about farm work, the other a “lazy country bumpkin” who did nothing all day. Together, they seemed like a case of two negatives making an even bigger negative.
But no one expected these two to actually turn two negatives into a positive.
The pair, once mocked by everyone, somehow managed to make their chaotic country life flourish.
Normally, the heroine doesn't even take revenge, so she goes to the countryside and works for only 200 yuan. She's so awesome! This is just a person who traveled through time. He has no skills at all.
