Centered on the everyday clashes between a teenage daughter and her menopausal mother, the story follows Su Xiao, a 16-year-old girl in a school uniform, and her apron-wearing mother, Lin Hui. During Su Xiao’s senior year of high school, they butt heads over academics, hobbies, and the little details of daily life: from a burnt soft-boiled egg at the breakfast table and a ban on ripped jeans, to conflicts between literature club activities and monthly exam scores, then late-night sessions organizing mistakes in the kitchen and her mother’s apron-clad figure at a recitation event. Caught between teenage rebellion and the anxiety of menopause, mother and daughter are always sparking off each other.
