She Creates Gods in Her Livestream

Lin Wan is notorious for being ruthless in the MCN industry.

People call her a “master strategist.” Put simply, she knows how to make millions of people laugh and cry at her cue. Cold-blooded and obsessed with metrics, she sets traps for anyone who gets in her way. Then her father falls gravely ill and leaves her a nearly bankrupt kesi weaving workshop.

The demolition crew, debt collectors, and jealous neighbors are all trouble. Lin Wan doesn’t even blink. She sets up her phone and starts livestreaming: her father’s critical condition notice, the apprentices’ calloused hands, and the crumbling walls of the old street all become part of her “sob story script.”

She wins sympathy by playing the victim and builds a following through her carefully crafted persona. Once the traffic starts pouring in, she can crush any problem. Even Xu Lang, the photographer who genuinely wants to help her, is treated like a tool for riding her wave of popularity.

But after telling lies for so long, one day she suddenly realizes she believes them herself.

When the false bubble finally bursts and the traffic dries up, who can find the sincere heart she herself ruined, buried among all the wreckage?

At its heart, this is a battle over love and exploitation, truth and lies, old crafts and new traffic. Watch this “bad woman” start out scheming, then slowly learn how to live honestly and recover some of her humanity.
