The Lonely Case That Guards the Immortal Path

His master transmigrated, others were more gifted than him, and his parents were among the very best. Even the woman he loved came from a stronger background.

And yet Xu Shisan still couldn't cultivate.

So the old chimney, who wanted nothing more than to go home, took the child of destiny Xu Shisan on a carefree wander across the world for more than ten years. Before they parted, he made Xu Shisan a sword case.

Xu Shisan's sword case had thirteen slots, but held twelve swords and one saber. Each sword belonged to a story, a doomed love, or a blood debt.

He collected them as he traveled, repaying each debt along the way. At the end of the road to immortality, he sacrificed himself to the case. Everyone said he was dead.

That solitary case still stands at the throat of the immortal road, keeping that dark thing from taking a single step beyond its bounds.

As for whether he died, the case knows.
