Supernatural + showbiz + comedy + livestreaming + fictional setting
Su Xiaowan was an ordinary overworked office worker. Her peaceful, uneventful life was shattered one day as she headed home after working overtime.
After a long stretch of overtime, Su Xiaowan was returning home late at night when she encountered something supernatural in the elevator of her old apartment building. In her panic, she used a strange wooden fish drum her grandmother had left her and accidentally “saved” a low-level earthbound spirit. This alarmed the Underworld, and Judge Cui Jue appeared to tell her that her extraordinary talent had disrupted the Underworld’s finances. She had to sign an employment contract and become a “temporary Underworld worker stationed in the human world,” completing KPIs to “repay her debt.” Su Xiaowan tried to resist, but to no avail. She was forcibly bound to an employee ID badge. And so Su Xiaowan went from being a corporate drudge in the human world to a drudge in the Underworld. She also met her perfect partner, Xie Bi'an, the famous White Impermanence. Thus began a series of hilarious and ridiculous mishaps.
