Yang Xiao is a heavily indebted food delivery driver. During a late-night delivery, he is caught in a bizarre car accident and bound to a mysterious System. When he wakes, he discovers he can travel between the worlds of the living and the dead to deliver "takeout." To repay his debts and survive, and to uncover the mystery behind what happened to him, he is forced to become a "netherworld deliveryman" who walks on the edge between life and death. Through one dangerous, eerie delivery mission after another, he ventures deep into the bizarre underworld, meets ghostly companions who are sometimes allies and sometimes enemies, and gets drawn into power struggles in the underworld, strange changes in the land of the living, and a vast conspiracy that threatens the balance between both realms. From his initial fear and resistance to gradually adapting and finding his place, Yang Xiao ultimately becomes a unique being who connects the realms of the living and the dead. Along the way, he finds redemption and profoundly changes the fate of both worlds.
