"Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms: The Dream of Chasing the World" is a historical fantasy epic set in the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms to the early Northern Song Dynasty. It combines real historical events and fictional settings to tell a grand story about the earth's veins, stars and people's hearts.
The protagonist Li Chonghui was originally a scholar from Youzhou. After accidentally discovering fragments of a jade flute that contained mysterious power, he was involved in a mineral crisis that affected the fate of the world. He joined hands with the Khitan female leader Yelu Zhao to propose the "Three Key Theory" in an attempt to prevent the collapse of the earth's veins and the overthrow of civilization. At the same time, historical figures such as Chai Rong, Shizong of the Later Zhou Dynasty, Zhao Kuangyin, Taizu of the Song Dynasty, and Zhao Pu, the counselor, all appeared one after another to make choices between power, ideals and disasters.
With "benevolence" and "inheritance" as the core themes, the work spans the multiple dimensions of war, coup, technology and faith, depicting a magnificent picture of troubled times, and ultimately points to a profound question: Should knowledge be controlled, or should it be scattered in the world like sparks?
