It tells the story of a mysterious archaeological exploration journey spanning ten years. Ten years ago, Lu Jingyan, a top scholar of pre-Qin history, led a team to participate in the rescue excavation of the "Zhou King's Tomb" in Mangshan. However, he mysteriously disappeared at a critical stage. Only half a bronze goblet fragment with "bone in the goblet" engraved on it was left at the site, a pool of blood, and an incoherent sentence: "The triple door is opened, the blood goblet screams, it is neither human nor ghost, it is for 'keeping'."
Ten years later, Lu Jingyan's son Lu Wei discovered fragments of a bronze goblet related to his father's disappearance in an antique shop. When he decided to accept it, he was blocked by the mysterious Scarface and others. After a series of thrilling chases, Lu Wei discovered that the new fragment could be perfectly spliced with the half piece left by his father. He also discovered a yellowed silk book recording the secrets of the ancient tomb from the goblet, and received a mysterious invitation from the depths of Mang Mountain.
In order to find out the truth about his father's disappearance, Lu Wei and his old classmate Zhou Manwen went to Mang Mountain. On the way, they met Scarface and learned that Scarface's father also participated in the archeology and died there. The three of them entered the mysterious tomb together. In the tomb, they encountered numerous crises such as bone-eating insects, strange murals, moving finger bones, and huge snake-like monsters. The fragments of his father's diary that appeared in the tomb revealed the terrible secret hidden in the tomb: the guardians of the tomb are "neither dead nor alive, with bones as their bodies and blood as their food." The bronze goblet seems to be the key to solving all these mysteries, but it also hides more unknown clues.
As they explored further, they found that they were falling step by step into a trap that was carefully laid out more than two thousand years ago. The mysterious forces and unknown entities behind it controlled everything.
