The modern cold loft space is wedged into the old Beijing Hutongs with thousands of years of fireworks. It is both a physical collision and a metaphor of the times. Five young women with very different personalities—the rational returnee investor Lin Wei, the prudent programmer Li Mo, the photographer Su Anqi struggling with artistic ideals, the UP host Chen Leyan with her own traffic, and the reasonable "space steward" Zhao Ran—gathered here because of their respective plights in urban life.

In this fast-rotating digital age, they create sparks at the intersection of "Loft in the Alley" and absorb nutrients. In the end, they each find the rhythm of dancing with the times, and under the shared starlight, they move towards their own shining lives.
