Lin Fan, a marketing graduate, accidentally traveled to the Dasheng Dynasty ruled by the empress Zhao Lingyang. With modern knowledge, he used rock, paper, scissors to help the empress approve memorials, relied on square dancing to cure plague, and used paper clips to solve problems in neighboring countries. From being regarded as a monster to becoming a protector of the country, he taught the empress to carry out reforms while secretly developing feelings for each other.
