"Shadow Embers" is the sequel to "Echo Chamber", extending the story from the closed chamber to the weirder "Quiet Sanatorium".
In order to find out the controller behind the Echo Chamber, Shen Yu and Zhao Ye ventured into this seemingly peaceful sanatorium, only to discover that the connection with the chamber was far beyond imagination - the 1997 expansion drawings concealed a mysterious space suspected of being a chamber structure. Su Ran, a psychiatrist who suddenly "resigned" years ago, is closely related to the mysterious disappearance of three employees that year. The "one-eyed" brooch found by the reservoir further proves that the mysterious manipulator with the scar on his brow has already set his sights on them.
As the investigation deepens, Shen Yu gradually realizes that his past has a secret connection with the nursing home, and Zhao Ye's life experience also reveals surprising cracks in the layers of clues. Su Ran's sudden appearance sometimes provides key information and sometimes creates fatal traps, making the already complicated situation even more confusing. When the iron door in the basement of the sanatorium slowly opens, the undiscovered truth in the secret room, the true purpose of the controller, and the final direction of everyone's fate will all usher in more subversive answers in the embers of the shadow.
