Lu Chen is about to graduate and start looking for a job. With nothing better to do, he comes across a video titled “True Dragon Appears in the World” and laughs at one of the comments:
“Some people fly on swords, others walk on air, and I’m the only one riding an electric scooter?”
He casually grumbles, “If I have to get a job, why not work for the gods?”
The very next second...
A golden dragon fixes its searchlight-like gaze on him and whisks the wisecracking young man away:
“Boy, you’re in charge of repairing the million statues in the Jade Emperor’s Pavilion. Do a good job, and the gods will reward you with a few scraps, enough to make you immortal!”
Faced with a palace that looks like a ruin, Lu Ran is dumbfounded:
▶ The Earth God hurriedly teaches him the Earthwalking Art: “Kid, fix mine first! This old man’s been waiting ages for a day off!”
▶ A green ox arrives with a peach in its mouth: “Wait! What’s that trendy ox-head sculpture behind you?”
When the gods discover that...
This repairman has turned their statues into cyberpunk mechs, traditional-style immortal robes, hip-hop graffiti...
The Three Realms erupt:
The God of Wealth tosses him a gold ingot: “Add a Gucci belt for me, and I’ll double your incense offerings!”
Chang’e sends him money with tears in her eyes: “A Dunhuang Flying Apsara skin! Right now! Immediately!”
King Yama frantically slaps his Book of Life and Death: “How cool is an infernal-fire skin? I’ll trade you a hundred thousand underworld soldiers!”
Doing tasks results in picking up girls
It's okay, the subject matter is novel, but there are too many daily interludes
The pace is too slow. In fact, the writing is okay. The only problem is that some people really don't have the patience to watch the very long plot.
