I Just Died and Became a Ghost, and You’re Giving Me a Heavenly Master Ghost-Hunting System?

[Subverting expectations] [Play the pig to eat the tiger] [Contrasts] [Undercover]

I had just died and become a ghost, and was still at a loss when a ding rang in my head!

[Congratulations, Host! You have awakened the Demon-Subduing Heavenly Master System! Its error rate is zero!]

Bai Qiushi stared at his own semitransparent hands, completely dumbfounded.

I'm a ghost, and you want me to become a Demon-Subduing Heavenly Master?

[Beginner mission issued: An F-rank wandering spirit has been detected (the Host himself). Use the Rebirth Mantra from your Beginner's Gift Pack to guide it to the afterlife immediately!]

[Mission failure penalty: Erasure!]

“I'm supposed to guide myself to the afterlife?!”

Just as Bai Qiushi was about to take his tearful leave of himself, another poor soul was hit by a car nearby and became a new ghost.

A bright idea struck him, and he cast the Rebirth Mantra on the newcomer!

[ Ding! Congratulations, Host! Mission complete! Reward: +10 merit points!]

Seeing the golden merit points, Bai Qiushi understood!

Being a ghost doesn't stop me from catching ghosts!

From then on, evil ghosts gained a “good buddy,” while the underworld's ghost officers and the human world's Heavenly Masters gained a mysterious “colleague”!

The evil ghosts: “Buddy, how can a ghost like you know the Heavenly Master's lightning arts?!”

The human Heavenly Masters: “Why are there fewer and fewer ghosts in this district? Has some great master moved here lately?”

The underworld's ghost officers: “Why have our numbers been so bad lately? Who's stealing our business?!”

Bai Qiushi looked at the “Underworld Office on Earth” he'd built with his own hands and sighed. “Sigh, life isn't easy. Even ghosts have to sigh. To keep this bunch of little ghosts fed, I've got no choice but to work myself to the bone.”
