His name was Jian Dan. Yes, really, Jian Dan. His life was pretty simple too. He worked part-time at a convenience store and earned a little money to get by.
The rules-horror phenomenon had arrived in his country a few years earlier. Large numbers of people disappeared, sending the entire country into a wave of panic. The already fragmented nation fell apart even further.
Then the higher-ups held an emergency meeting, though his memories of all that were pretty fuzzy. His almost-give-up-on-life attitude meant he didn't care much about it. He was only concerned with what to eat for dinner.
Unfortunately, one day he too entered the world of rules horror.
Even more unfortunately, he hadn't been chosen by the horror to enter.
