Synopsis
In 2077, New Yuan City is a place where technology and chaos coexist. Holographic projections blanket the streets, and body modifications like mechanical arms and electronic eyes are commonplace. The Federation’s law enforcement teams appear to maintain order, but in truth they collude with the black market to sell human implants.
Protagonist: Lin Yao, a Taoist nun from the cultivation world who unexpectedly transmigrates into a cyberpunk world and becomes bound to the Heavenly Dao System. She must complete “expose evil” missions to earn merit, or the System will erase her. Skilled in traditional occult arts such as fortune-telling, talisman drawing, and divination, she uses them to unravel technological conspiracies. She also harbors secret techniques from the cultivation world that let her fight against mechanically augmented humans.
Central conflict: The clash between traditional occult arts and cyberpunk technology, Lin Yao’s struggle to survive as she battles the Federation’s corruption, and her efforts to expose an even greater interstellar conspiracy behind the human implants.
