A Hundred Million in Lottery Winnings and Life Alone at 25

Xia Xiao is 25 and works as a new-media editor at an internet company in a second-tier city. She earns 6,000 yuan a month and lives alone in a tiny room in an old residential compound, paying 1,800 yuan in rent. Every day, she crams onto the subway and works on copy until the early hours. Her greatest hope is to save enough for a down payment on a small apartment. Every now and then, she buys a five-yuan lottery ticket as a little stress-relieving ritual.
