Starlight Empire: The Rise of Humanity

Core themes: interstellar civilization war, space travel, exploration of cosmic civilizations, the rise of a human empire, survival, and evolution.

A thousand years ago, a badly damaged Zerg scout ship crashed into the Solar System, bringing death and despair to an unsuspecting Earth. Humanity won a costly victory at the price of half its population, but spent the next century engulfed in war. At last, the Luo family rose to power, unified the world, and founded the Starlight Empire, making “prepare for the thousand-year Zerg tide” the highest national policy. After five centuries of determined development, the empire's technology advanced by leaps and bounds: Dyson spheres supplied limitless energy, Dragon Abyss mechs commanded the stars, plasma shields protected the borders, and a vast interstellar fleet began to take shape. Yet the thousand-year deadline was drawing near, and the shadow of the Zerg hive already loomed over the edge of the galaxy. Luo Xiu, commander-in-chief of the Imperial Interstellar Alliance Fleet, is an imperial marshal who fights like a drawn sword in wartime but is laid-back and unruly in peacetime. He must shoulder the fate of humanity. Leading his loyal adjutant, he will navigate the tangled web of the empire's seven great families, explore unknown star regions, seek the aid of the beastfolk, and remain wary of the mysterious godfolk. Amid the desperate onslaught of the Zerg, he will kindle humanity's last spark of starlight. This is a war for survival and a proving ground for the evolution of civilization. In time, humanity will become one of the universe's supreme races and take pride in calling itself the human race.
