Zhang Yuan wakes from a nap to find himself drenched by the underhive acid rain of the Warhammer 40K universe. The good news: a down-on-his-luck Rogue Trader, an old man who curses like a sailor, takes him in. After getting drunk, the old man even changes the name of the heir to his family’s “Imperium’s Best Investment Product,” the Rogue Trader charter, to Zhang Yuan’s! The bad news: the Orks are coming. To cover his escape, the old man charges into the horde with “Last Laugh,” a pistol with a 30% chance of misfiring. (A genuine last laugh.)
To save a little kid, Zhang Yuan swings a metal-alloy door panel, as light as the lid of a food-delivery cooler, and charges the Orks. But in their eyes, it instantly becomes a “heaven-splitting greatsword shining with the holy radiance of the Two-Headed Emperor of the Orks”! The more frightened the Orks get, the harder he hits, and he somehow earns the title of “Chosen of the Emperor.” With a band of admirers at his side, he turns the hive city into “Zhang Yuan’s Funhouse.”
Then the new planetary governor, rubbing his hands together, packs Zhang Yuan and his only two surviving, disabled brothers off to the Imperial Guard as a “special tithe bundle.” As they board the ship, the female Inquisitor who keeps assigning him “certain death” missions happens to spot the Rogue Trader charter sticking out. It seems to have an old stain of the Emperor’s blood on it… no, wait, holy blood!
Now the Inquisitor is racing to verify this “aristocratic installment-payment contract.” If it’s valid, Zhang Yuan, whom the governor just dumped onto the battlefield like trash, may soon return with the Longfellow family’s interstellar vault and buy the governor’s golden toilet to use as a chamber pot.
“Should’ve grabbed a couple more Ork feet when it was buy one, get two free…” muses a governor, sprawled in the rain, contemplating an investment blunder on a cosmic scale.
It's nice to watch, the battle scenes are exciting, and the characters are soulful. I feel that the protagonist team are all flesh-and-blood people, and they also have a strong sense of Warhammer. Even people who have never seen Warhammer can understand it.
The combat is a bit similar to the humanoid green-skinned boss. Although the writing is rough and needs improvement, I think it is a good book with potential. Adding this point, in summary, the main narrative story line is still good, but the extra story is not very good. It is recommended that the author delete the extra story and add it to the main narrative story line.
If possible, you can add some doom features , don't ask for the same thing, just like being able to grow and completely kill the devil.
It's a very good book, with a strong flavor, but there are a bit too many extra chapters. I suggest the author reduce the number of extra chapters appropriately.
It looks good, it feels like Warhammer and Sword Legend 🙂
No need to write extras
Warhammer is a great book! Nice
Author, is it fun to fight after the protagonist becomes a Rogue Trader? 🧐
It's a very nice book, I hope the author can continue [Learned]
It's okay, write well and don't mess with it, no problem
