The Disgraced Crown Princess

To buy her beloved Princess Jing, the Crown Prince’s cherished white moonlight, a chance to live, her husband the Crown Prince offered her to the enemy’s tyrant.

He personally draped the wedding robe over her shoulders, his fingertips cold. “You are the Crown Princess. Sacrificing yourself for the country is only right.”

She smiled and asked, “What if I never come back?”

“Then your blood will be offered to my army’s banners.”

On the journey to seal the marriage alliance, the tyrant tore up the treaty and trampled her homeland beneath his iron hooves. The Crown Prince’s father and mother burned themselves to death before the palace, while he fled south with his beloved.

Three years later, she stood atop the ruins, holding the tyrant’s hand, and watched the Crown Prince grovel at her feet like a dog.

“Crown Princess…” he called to her in a trembling voice.

She crushed his fingertips beneath her foot, then shoved his beloved off the city wall. “Listen. That is the death knell of your kingdom.”
