In the autumn of the fourth year of Yuanshuo, Huo Qubing, the Han dynasty's god of war, and Lin Xiaoman, a transmigrated doctor, are brought together at the Qilian Mountains by a mysterious twin-fish jade pendant. The pendant belonged to Huo's mother, Wei Shao'er. Its star-map markings can activate the long-sealed “Flowing Light Ancient Passage” deep in an icy valley, a prehistoric route connecting to a celestial realm.
Inside the passage, a colossal star platform reveals a shocking truth: ten thousand years ago, the advanced Starboat civilization fled its home world as its star collapsed into a dark red vortex. Some of its people were stranded on Earth, leaving behind the ancient passage in hopes of returning one day. Wei Shao'er once came here to study the star map, and her visit remained an unsolved mystery.
To solve the mystery of “Tracing the Flowing Light,” Huo and Lin venture deep into the star platform:
• Watchers in the Ice Valley: Pregnant Lin Xiaoman studies the star map as the jade pendant absorbs starlight to recharge. The baby's movements trigger an energy resonance.
• Turmoil in Chang'an: The Crown Prince's faction plots to seize the pendant. Huo Qubing fights desperately to protect his family, and the pendant reacts by unleashing a flash of white light to shield him.
• Land of Star Ashes: Following the star map's coordinates, they use the pendant's energy to open a star gate and enter a cosmic graveyard. Amid shattered stellar remains and radioactive dust, they find the last spark of the Starboat civilization: Xing Tong, the orphaned survivor of the Starboat people, asleep in a life-support pod.
• The Bloodline's Return: At the cost of destroying the jade pendant, Huo Qubing tears open a wormhole and returns to the Qilian Mountains with Xing Tong. The star platform is destroyed, and loyal souls are buried in the sea of stars, while Xing Tong finally awakens through a resonance with the Wei bloodline.
In the end, Huo and Lin settle in the icy Qilian Valley with their son, Huo Shi, nicknamed Little Stone, and Xing Tong. The pendant turns into an ordinary stone, and the star map is sealed away forever. But a spark of civilization that has crossed time and space is already kindled at the touch of two children's fingertips. The star gate is closed forever, and the way home remains a mystery. In the glow of the bonfire in the icy valley, humanity has written a story in the vast universe with courage and tenderness
