“Don't forget, you were the one who begged to become my concubine!” On their wedding night, Pei Wangjing, heir to the Duke of Ying's title, grips Yan He's chin and makes her look him in the eye...
Yan He was once the Chancellor's legitimate daughter, the most dazzling young woman in Chang'an.
That year, Pei Wangjing fell in love with her at first sight and asked for her hand in marriage. But the old-fashioned Chancellor Yan rejected him outright and loudly declared, “How could a rough military family possibly be worthy of marrying my daughter?”
He offended everyone in the Pei family...
Until Chancellor Yan was convicted and his entire family fell into disgrace.
Desperate for a way to survive, Yan He went to the Pei family alone and knelt, begging them to save her. In return, she was willing to enter their household as a concubine.
The Peis agreed. They saved her, and they took her in.
Everyone said the Pei family had only done it to get even. Even Pei Wangjing thought he no longer loved her.
Even if he wanted her, it was nothing more than physical pleasure.
What he didn't know was that what he truly wanted was for her to depend on no one but him for the rest of her life, to belong to him alone.
Later, even the emperor saw through him. Narrowing his eyes, he asked, “You're not planning to overturn the verdict against her father, are you?”
Pei Wangjing came prepared. “Your Majesty is wise. Why not let the past stay in the past?”
Dear readers, this is a one-man, one-woman romance!
It's a heartwarming short story, not sadistic at all, but every time it describes the heroine's past life compared to the state of mind of being a concubine, it makes me feel so pitiful. The heroine's father is really good. He didn't remarry for the sake of his children and yet he educated them so well. I don't quite understand that the heroine misses her father but doesn't hate the emperor at all.
When this book is unfolded, it becomes a colorful picture. There is happiness, joy, misfortune and pain, but they are all real and colorful. All kinds of people and things have splashed ink into this picture [sending heart] 😄
Very beautiful, well written
Good-looking, good-looking, super good-looking
Not bad. I really want to watch it. I look forward to Yan He and Shizi being together for the rest of their lives.
It's relatively smooth and the logic is reasonable.
The writing is very good, the story line is smooth, the structure is compact, and the male and female protagonists are both good.
It's good to watch. It would be better to write some extra stories about the emperor and the queen.
The plot is fascinating, and Persimmon is also hard-spoken and soft-hearted
Not bad, novel and interesting, the writing is also very good
