Morning Light and You
During a torrential downpour, the aloof top student Jiang Xu runs into transfer student Cheng Ye on the top floor of the library. The two unexpectedly discover a time capsule left behind by a senior from the Class of 1998, uncovering the mystery of a blue lotus and a mechanical watch.
Jiang Xu uses sine curves to tutor Cheng Ye in math, while Cheng Ye teaches him to pass his heartbeat through a basketball. A listening tape in the English corner holds a blessing Cheng Ye's mother never got to say aloud; a blue lotus specimen book from biology class records the secrets of symbiosis shared by seniors from past years.
Trapped in a planetarium on a typhoon night, Jiang Xu uses a prism to make a rainbow, while the camera lingers on Cheng Ye's hands touching Braille. The "light of hope," reflected with mirrors at an abandoned lighthouse, unexpectedly becomes a new city landmark and illuminates the childhood shadows haunting the two boys.
As the college entrance exam countdown ticks away, Cheng Ye rises from near the bottom of his class to become a top student, while Jiang Xu grows from an isolated teenager into a photographer devoted to public service. Behind technological breakthroughs like the blue lotus gene patent and the perpetual-motion mechanism in the mechanical watch lies a youthful bond that transcends time and space.
When Jiang Xu's blue lotus blooms at Harvard, the hands of Cheng Ye's mechanical watch always point to 3:03. That is the time they first met, and the eternal bond that lies within their light cone.
The writing is very good, and the content is not brainless. I just didn't understand it when I first saw that the cover was a real person. Everything else is okay, and the update speed is also very fast. Come on, author [plus one for bookshelf][plus one for bookshelf][plus one for bookshelf]
