The Celestial Court and the Underworld have been wrecked! The culprits are twin nine-tailed spirit foxes: Xie Zhaozhao, carrying the Mirror of the World, and Xie Jiaojiao, wielding the Gavel of Judgment. After a string of “heroic feats,” including livestreaming the Jade Emperor taking a bath and bending Judge Yan’s brush with a hammer, the Celestial Emperor and King of Hell finally lose patience and kick them down to the mortal realm together!
Born into the official Xie family, the sisters become the family’s little darlings. They never lose their taste for gossip, spectacle, and stirring up trouble, and they come with a world-shaking bug: their supposedly encrypted mind-to-mind conversations, where they mock the Jade Emperor and King of Hell, discuss court secrets, and plan pranks, are heard loud and clear by everyone around them, along with the powers of their divine artifacts!
And so the court’s atmosphere takes a sudden turn:
Zhaozhao’s mirror reveals the hidden cellar where a corrupt official stashes his gold. The emperor says, “My dear subject, does your home need… a fire safety inspection?” Then orders it searched!
Jiaojiao’s gavel senses that a prince plans to usurp the throne. Her thoughts livestream: “He’ll be finished within an incense stick’s time!” His Majesty swiftly closes the net!
The sisters bicker and expose each other’s secrets: “You ate the Celestial Emperor’s fruit when you were seven and got a stomachache!” The whole court, full of master actors, struggles not to laugh themselves sick!
They blurt out their true identities (“That old King of Hell!” “The old Celestial Emperor kicked us down here!”) and expose their artifacts (the Mirror of the World? The Gavel of Judgment?!), shocking all three realms! Yet the emperor and officials who know the truth reach an unspoken agreement: pretend! Keep pretending for dear life! Play along with the future great powers of Heaven and Earth!
From then on, wherever the Xie family’s twin foxes go, gossip explodes and their thoughts fly everywhere like on-screen comments! Schemes and plots, princes fighting for the throne, romances between immortals and mortals, or even the sudden appearance of a demon lair: the sisters snack on candied hawthorn, carry their mirror and hammer, and guide the realm with their thoughts, flattening anyone who dares defy them! The court’s bigwigs are forced to follow along in real time, wailing inwardly: Little darlings, please stop spoiling everything!
