The Great Xia Dynasty had been established for three hundred years. It was surrounded by powerful enemies outside and aristocratic families controlled the government internally. Confucian dogma became rigid and became a tool for pursuing fame and fortune. Scholars lost their integrity and the fate of the country was in jeopardy. The people are suffering and complaining, and the dynasty is showing signs of its end. The protagonist Gu Changye has a "karmic entanglement" with a Confucian sage from ancient times on a spiritual level. During times of mental stress, life-or-death situations, or floods of thoughts, fragments of the sage's memory will appear in his mind. These fragments not only contain higher-dimensional knowledge and insights, but also contain the most original power of Confucianism and Taoism - the practice method of "Haoran Zhengqi" and the prototype of "Speech and Dharma Follower". This makes his poems and articles not only able to arouse visions of heaven and earth, but also unite people's hearts and get rid of evil spirits. This "memory overlap" also brings about a huge "conflict of self-perception". He often doubts whether he is Gu Changye or an extension of the sage's will. This is his core contradiction and growth motivation throughout the entire text.
