Lu Chen: The Shadow Ledger

On a typhoon night, Zhao Jianguo, a senior provincial official, plunges to his death under mysterious circumstances. The scene is perfectly staged to look like an accident. Lu Chen, captain of the criminal investigation squad, spots faint traces of cyanide and a pair of slippers placed neatly side by side, and concludes that this was a carefully planned murder.

The investigation quickly bogs down: a key informant dies in an “accident,” surveillance footage mysteriously vanishes, and physical evidence is contaminated. Three long-cold cases resurface. The same cross-shaped pressure marks on the victims’ palms point to a ghostly operation codenamed “Clean Sweep,” a shadowy organization that uses advanced technology and staged “accidents” to systematically eliminate targets from within the establishment.

Lu Chen is suspended, disarmed, and soon becomes a wanted man. He joins forces with Su Qing, a genius forensic pathologist, and Tieshan, a mysterious intelligence expert. Together they struggle amid the ruins of a world where trust has collapsed. Their enemy is a “System Ghost” embedded in the heart of power: someone wearing a police uniform, wielding the rules, and committing murder in the name of “purification.”

From a mansion’s locked room to an abandoned shooting range, from the evidence center to the dangers of the Golden Triangle, Lu Chen must evade the System’s hunt, decipher the death signature of the “Ouroboros,” and uncover the shocking secrets of the “Ghost Ledger.” It is a dance on the edge of an abyss, where every step could mean total destruction.

When procedural justice becomes a tool of murder, and protectors turn into executioners, can Lu Chen kindle a light in absolute darkness, one bright enough to reveal the truth and burn everything to the ground?
