A Little Painter Runs into a Coldhearted Movie Star

After a 600,000-yuan costume was ruined by a spill, top-tier star Gu Heng flew into a rage. But wild artist Su Yao saved the day with her mastery of ancient pigment restoration, and was bound to the Dunhuang Ballad project by a sky-high contract.

She was an art school dropout; he was a top-tier star with control over the money behind the industry. They should have been worlds apart, yet in front of a fragment of Dunhuang art, their hearts began to race in unison. She saw the Tang dynasty painter A Yao rush into the flames to protect a mural, while he dreamed of General Xuan Lang weeping blood on the battlefield. A thousand-year-old fate followed them like a shadow.

The Qi family schemed to monopolize raw materials, Gu Heng's father used his mother to stop him from investigating the Xuan Lang cave, and the eerie legend of “It” awakening clung to them both. From suspicion between employer and employee to protecting each other in a deadly sandstorm, from the secrets their mothers' generation had left unfinished to the flying apsara symbols deep in the cave, they unraveled not only a thousand-year-old mystery amid Dunhuang's windswept sands, but also a love reignited across time.
