My name is Nara Youzhu. I wear my golden hair in a ponytail tied with a pale purple ribbon, and my light purple eyes have never looked beyond my friends.
Until the people I know so well suddenly began acting differently.
Someone pounded on my bedroom door in the middle of the night. Naruto stood outside with red-rimmed eyes, looking like a drenched puppy as he clutched my sleeve and asked softly, “You’ve been talking to Gaara a lot lately... Do you really not want me to eat ramen with you anymore?”
The day Sasuke defected, I stood in his way, tears falling onto the back of his hand. He suddenly leaned down and kissed them away. As his fingers tapped the back of my neck, his voice was as soft as a sigh: “Don’t stop me.”
Even in my own bedroom, Shikamaru suddenly pinned me against the wall, one arm braced above my head. His Adam’s apple bobbed as he called me “Youzhu,” his voice full of a panic I’d never heard before: “You really don’t want your big brother anymore?”
At the training ground, I caught Neji clutching my pale purple hair tie, his fingers rubbing its pattern over and over. The setting sun fell on the tips of his ears, making them red enough to drip blood.
Even Gaara, the most taciturn of them all, draws close when I say, “I think I’ve forgotten what happened when I was little.” His breath, mixed with sand, lingers at the tip of my nose. His fingers entwine tightly with mine, and his pale green eyes grow dark: “Youzhu, you really don’t remember?”
Content warnings and notes
1. Strong female lead: She grows through her own abilities. She has a System, but it comes into play later, and she doesn’t rely on others.
2. Romance pacing: At first, the female lead only senses the characters’ kindness and mistakes it for ordinary friendly concern. She gradually notices something is different as the hints grow stronger in the middle and later parts.
3. The ending is undecided: The romance may be a harem or focus on one person.
