The Legend of the Immortal Sword Lovers centers on the balance of the Five Realms, unfolding a grand tale that spans the realms of gods, immortals, humans, demons, and devils. A century after the war between gods and devils, turbulent undercurrents swirl beneath a pact of noninterference: remnants of the Devil Realm covet Shu Mountain’s secret treasure, the weakened barrier of the Demon Realm lets its inhabitants wreak havoc in the mortal world, and the Immortal Realm is riven by divisions over the idea of humans and demons coexisting.
Yunting, a prodigy of Shu Mountain’s sword arts who bears the blood of dragons and a family vendetta, is investigating demonic disturbances in Jiangnan when he and his junior sister Su Li, a half-fox, are drawn into the conflict. From bitter rivals to partners who would die for each other, the two gradually uncover century-old secrets: the ambition of Lingxiao, the head of Shu Mountain; the Qionghua Sect’s extremist ideology; and the plot to revive the Devil Realm are all bound up with the Five Realm Spirit Pearls, which can awaken the Devil Lord.
Xiao Yan, chief of the Beggars’ Sect; Liu Ruyan, master of the Misty Rain Pavilion; Ye Li, leader of the Fox Clan; and more than thirty other figures from the three realms take the stage, their grudges and loyalties intertwined. Chu Feng struggles between betrayal and redemption, Xuanyuan fights in blood for the dignity of the demon race, and Liu Ruyan’s identity as a princess of the Devil Realm is exposed... When the twin stars converge and the Spirit Pearls are gathered, the slumbering Devil Lord triggers the final battle, forcing all the races to join forces.
From the summit of Shu Mountain to the Illusory Netherworld of the Demon Realm, they uphold the path of coexistence through sacrifice and difficult choices. In the end, Yunting and Su Li become lovers from different realms and usher in a new era of harmony between humans and demons. Yet the remnants of the Devil Realm remain, setting the stage for what comes next, while the legend of the Immortal Sword Lovers lives on across the three realms.
