Inside a package delivered at midnight is a parchment scroll. At its head are the words: "My name is Chen Shi. By the time you read this, I'll be dead." Ancient-book restorer Chen Shi is dragged into an abyss. A camphorwood chest holds something alive, a lame old man rises from the dead, and countless eyes watch from the darkness. As the seventh sacrifice, he must uncover the thousand-year-old curse binding his family to the parchment before he is "found."
