Strange Tales from Bureau 749'S Mystery Division

In 2035, Ning Ning, Fang Ke, and Ma Yi from Team One of the National 749 Bureau's Paranormal Investigation Group are special anti-theft agents who walk the boundary between the living and the dead.

Technical genius Ning Ning's thermal imaging device can see through a thousand years of dust, but not the vengeful spirits lurking deep inside ancient tombs. Fang Ke's sonic weapon can shatter rock walls, but it can't sever the black hair coiled around a corpse. Medium Ma Yi can sense the obsessions of the dead, but must endure the bone-chilling cold each time the worlds of yin and yang converge.

Starting with the curse of a Warring States bronze mask, they wage a life-or-death battle against tomb raiders across twenty ancient tombs: the magnetic field of a blood-jade coffin warps the mind; illusions of ghost soldiers marching through the night swallow the living; the pincers of a corpse beetle king tear flesh; and the petrifying rays of a stone statue formation blanket the wilderness... High-tech equipment fails time and again against paranormal forces. When a bronze mirror reflects a face that shouldn't exist, a bone flute plays the dead's mournful cries, and a puppet strikes a pose of death, they must face the things crawling out of history's shadows before the artifacts are stolen.

This is no ordinary hunt for criminals. It's a desperate battle in which modern technology confronts a thousand years of resentment. Behind every case lies an ancient curse awakened by greed, and something even more terrifying than the tomb raiders.
