Reborn in 2005: The Sprinter Is Back for Another Run

[Sports + Olympics + Sprinting] In 2024, 38-year-old national-class sprinter Lin Feng was at a reunion with old friends, still bragging about how Su Bingtian had broken the Asian record in the 2021 Tokyo Olympics semifinals. Hearing that his old rival was still active as a coach and had cultivated one generation of sprinting stars after another, Lin Feng couldn't help feeling regret. An accident in 2008 had ruptured his Achilles tendon, forcing him to end his career early and costing him the best chance to bring glory to his country. Burdened by that regret, Lin Feng fell into a deep sleep after drinking. When he woke up, he found himself back in 2005, just after turning 19 and entering the golden upward phase of his sprinting career. There was still time to change everything.

Given a second life, Lin Feng is determined to make up for his past regrets, armed with more than a decade of training experience and memories of competitions, as well as a deep understanding of how sprinting techniques have developed. He will avoid the traps of injury, refine his form, and raise his competitive level. From the city team to the provincial team and then the national team, he'll climb to ever higher levels of competition, writing a new legend for Chinese sprinting at international events such as the 2008 Beijing Olympics and the 2012 London Olympics, and raising the five-starred red flag high on the hundred-meter track.
