After the Empress Was Reborn, Her Shadow Guard Knelt by Her Bed Every Night

The Princess Lingxi of Southern Cang is reborn after surviving the flames of rebirth, only to become Chu Jinghong, the foolish Seventh Princess everyone in Eastern Yao mocks. The blood feud from her previous life, when her country fell and her family was destroyed, remains unsettled, and in this life she is trapped in a web of plots by the Empress Dowager, who wants her dead, and the Prince Regent, who schemes against her.

She hides her sharp edge and uses her madness as bait, never expecting that Ye Jin, the coldest shadow guard at her side, harbors the fiercest obsession. By day, he cuts down enemies and drinks their blood for her. By night, when the Heart-Eating Curse strikes, he forces his way to her bedside and demands a drop of blood from her heart.

“Your blood is both the antidote and the poison.”

As the poison of the Soul-Twisting Lure spreads and the secret of the blood-jade ring comes to light, she finally learns that hidden within this shadow guard’s loyalty are schemes to overturn the Nine Provinces, and a love that consumes them to the bone.

The mad princess carefully plots her revenge, while her devoted shadow guard repeatedly crosses the line to protect her. In a game of power and intrigue, whoever falls first becomes the other’s weakness, and their armor as well.
