Little Lucky Star of the 1960s: Bringing Fortune to the Family

[Period setting + ensemble cast + golden finger + everyday life]

As the last koi in the world, Jin Xiaoli had spent this age of spiritual decline keeping her distance from humanity, doing her best to protect herself and hiding away in her own cave abode. She could sleep for centuries at a time. She never imagined that she’d wake up, head to her own spirit spring for a soak, and get struck by lightning, turning into a human baby.

In the 1960s, the old Lin family of Qingshan Brigade wasn’t so poor they couldn’t put food on the table, but with the famine years approaching, they were barely managing to eat their fill. Then Fubao was born, and the family never came home empty-handed from hunting in the mountains or fishing in the river. Even the wild vegetables and fruit they gathered came in a greater variety and grew better than anyone else’s. The whole old Lin family agreed that Fubao had brought them good luck, so the one thing everyone in the family could agree on was spoiling and loving her.
