In the New Dome City of 2242, memories are commodities available for trade, and pain can be deleted with one click.
Lin Mo is the top "memory purifier" in the city. His job is to sneak into other people's minds and erase those dark and painful memories in exchange for customers' false peace of mind. He had long been numb to it until he encountered "Sample Zero" - a memory that belonged to the deceased and could not be purified.
This memory invades his mind like a ghost, dragging him into a vortex of murder, conspiracy and forbidden technology. He saw things he shouldn't have seen and knew things he shouldn't have known. Overnight, he changed from a system maintainer to a "virus" that the system must eliminate at all costs.
Hunted by the entire city, his only allies are the resistance groups from the lowest levels of the city, trying to overthrow everything. The only weapon was the voice of the deceased echoing in his mind.
In order to survive, he must answer the ultimate question: Who are you when your memories no longer belong to you?
