A cold electronic sound broke the calm and dragged Chen Mo into a death game called "Mission".
He was thrown into "reality mapping zones" derived from classic horror IPs: the slit girl on Wutong Street was playing with bloody scissors, the Kayako in Saeki's old house was braiding her black hair in the dark, Sadako's video tape showed snowflakes on the old TV, and the little girl in red in the forest of Taiwan hummed weird nursery rhymes... Every transmission was a life-and-death bet with a supernatural being that was "not restricted by any rules".
The system releases a task, and the time limit is ticking in your ears. Among the "players" participating, there are veterans who have endured several shocks, as well as newcomers who collapsed at the first sight of blood. They must find a way out in the pursuit of the evil spirits, but the price is that their companions fall one after another - sometimes the whole army is wiped out, leaving only Chen Mo.
The calm Chen Mo, with his keen observation and almost cold reason, opened cracks in desperate situations time and time again. He has seen too many people betray and die in fear, and he gradually realizes that there seems to be a bigger shadow behind these supernatural beings that "illuminate into reality".
Without the halo of the protagonist, there is no luck. When Kayako's resentment wraps around his ankles, when the cracked girl's voice sounds behind him, when the countdown to death makes people breathless - living is the only obsession and the sharpest test of human nature.
